Non Production Materials (MRO/CAPEX) Buyer

Your challenge

  • Strategically quote and source Non Production Materials (Maintenance, Repair, and Operating materials) and Capital Equipment, and increase the amount of digitalization of procurement through the use of eProcurement tools.
  • Develop, share, and implement category industry knowledge and best practices for NPM and Capex sourcing.
  • Analyze MRO and indirect spend and identify opportunities for cost savings, contract improvements, risk mitigation and improved compliance with standards, policies, and contracts.
  • Achieve year over year pricing improvements and record cost avoidance measurements.
  • Drive increased usage of eProcurement tools through the use of eCatalogs to facilitate user interface and reduce the touch points in the NPM process.
  • Monitor and provide guidance on procurement processes for MRO and indirects
  • Manage supplier performance and improve user experience by utilizing Vendor Management System.
  • Work with the procurement team to provide MRO expertise in the areas of contract negotiations, supplier/pricing models, and sourcing
  • Maintain the contract maintenance in the Corporate Retention System (Easy Contract).
  • Seek value added vendors to eliminate waste or improve user experience.
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate Purchasing Procedures and Policies.


Your profile


  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, procurement, supply chain management, engineering, or related discipline.


  • A minimum of 3 year track record in NPM, CAPEX, MRO and indirect procurement in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Experience conducting end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives for MRO and indirects.
  • Experience developing and managing e-auctions and in creating and managing electronic catalogs for indirect items 
  • Experience conducting spend analysis; disaggregating complex spend information into actionable insights.
  • Experience understanding and conducting supplier and market research.

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and presenting to others in a variety of formats.
  • Able to build and maintain trust and strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Responsible for managing projects toward concrete deliverables under a wide range of timelines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Certification a plus (i.e., CPM, CPSM, ASQ).
  • Knowledge of SAP
