Your challenge

The Supplier Quality Development Engineer is responsible for managing and developing dedicated suppliers (material-group related specialization), monitoring and assuring the defined quality level of purchased parts in serial production phase (after Gate 7) SOP

  • Review regularly (at least one time per month) performance from the assigned suppliers based on Vendor Rating System results and supplier KPI performance and then ensures effective actions aimed at improving supplier improvement programs.
  • In case of escalations, ensures immediate and sustainable elimination of the supplier caused failures
  • Plans and executes potential analysis and/or process audits of new and existing external suppliers acc. to the VDA 6.3 standard, incl. monitoring of the defined actions (serial production phase).
  • Organizes Top Focus Supplier Meetings together with Purchasing and affected M+H Plant(s) to ensure that the defined actions are implemented as agreed with the supplier
  • Supports the Material Group Managers with regard to the Material Group Strategy
  • Ensures exchange of experience and professional training of Supplier Quality Assurance employees in M+H sites
  • Drives continuous improvement of Supplier Development related processes, methods and tools incl. training through support of M+H Plant SQAs and suppliers

Your profile


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited university (Engineering, Material Sciences, Physics, Chemistry) or related field


  • At least 5 years of extensive practical experience in the area of quality systems and tools within the automotive industry
  • Profound knowledge of production and business processes, as well as specific knowledge of at least two M+H related material groups
  • Certified Lead Internal Auditor (or equivalent) to IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 (certified VDA 6.3 auditor preferred)

Required Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of IATF 16949, Customer Specific Requirements and all quality core tools.
  • Knowledge about ISO 14001
  • Mastery of MS-Office tools and good knowledge about SAP (QM/MM)
  • Practical experience in moderation, presentation and executing of training activities. Good skills related to communications, conflict resolution, assertiveness, analytical thinking, approach
  • Flexibility for strong portion of national and international business trips
