Your challenge

The  Heavy Duty and Industrial Cabin Air Filter – Filtration Engineer will be responsible for developing heavy duty and industrial cabin air filtration products along with its associated processes to ensure that they meet the specified performance requirements, quality, cost and timing.

  • Interpret and develop new Cabin Air filtration product designs based on customer and internal equipment requirements for aftermarket and automotive OEMs on various applications
  • Perform engineering evaluation on systems, assemblies and components using appropriate analytical tools (simulation, product validation, stack-up, etc.)
  • Create and execute validation plans to verify product performance compliance to specifications
  • Coordinate 3D and 2D product designs through product designers
  • Coordinate production trials in cooperation with process engineers to ensure product manufacturability
  • Investigate and research innovative design solutions to increase product value or reduce cost
  • Maintain project documentation per MANN+HUMMEL requirements within PDM system for product release (DFMEA, Drawings, Risk Analyses, Test Reports, etc.)
  • Review Make vs. Buy opportunities and develop “make” versions when feasible
  • Work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams in the development of new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with Project Management and take responsibility for some project management related tasks when it makes sense.
  • Cooperate with our global lead teams to development and implement new innovative products and new market segments for the Americas region.
  • Support engineering, quality, and production teams to improve our Production Technology and Quality.
  • Support purchasing and supplier quality in the development and approval of new suppliers and materials.
  • Contribute towards development and attainment of departmental goals in process improvements, compliance, product innovation and product benchmarking.
  • Actively participates in annual objectives as part of target agreements to drive continuous improvement

Your profile

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the transportation or filtration industry OR A Bachelor’s degree related to filtration, environmental science or textile with 2 years of applicable filtration experience will be considered

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work in a diverse, fast paced, team environment.
  • Able to travel up to 10% ie ….. tradeshows, customers etc.
