Your challenge

  • Apply engineering principles to design and improve processes that meet cost savings, productivity and quality objectives.  Design includes machine design and procurement of machines or components.
  • Design processes for new product and materials.
  • Work with others to investigate and solve manufacturing processing problems.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve process efficiency
  • Work with others to investigate and solve manufacturing processing problems.
  • Lead projects through all phases to meet timing and improvement objectives.
  • Manage projects using the defined project plan and Gantt charts. Communicate and document project activities such as the project scope, time lines, design reviews, action plans, and measured results.
  • Define project objectives and process baseline capabilities.
  • Evaluate technologies and suppliers for decisions on projects.
  • Ensure new equipment meets safety requirements in partnership with the safety personnel.
  • Ensure new equipment meets efficiency, reliability and process capability across the specified range of product and materials.
  • Create and/or modify information supporting the use of equipment in production including setup sheets, visual aids, work instructions, spare parts lists, manuals and purchase of spare parts.
  • Prototype and develop concepts for process changes.
  • Define process parameters for all manufacturing processes.
  • Monitor and improve process capability and efficiency.
  • Provide technical support on existing equipment and tooling

Your profile

Education and Experience:

  • Four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline is required with 3+ years of experience or a two-year A.A.S degree with 5+ years of experience as a manufacturing engineer.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing assembly processes and mechanics of machines.
  • Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, 3D) and Microsoft Office applications.
