New Generation of Easy Service Centrifuge

Ludwigsburg/Hamburg, September 4, 2018 - As the world’s leading filtration expert MANN+HUMMEL offers reliable solutions for a wide variety of marine applications. The new Easy Service Centrifuge (ESC) 600 was specially developed following market feedback and strong demand for a centrifuge that provides a cleaner, faster, easy “hand tool” servicing procedure.

The new ESC range provides a recognizable design across the ESC 600, ESC 400 and ESC 200 family range of centrifugal oil cleaners.

The new design will incorporate improvements in four key areas:

1. Cast Cover
The new one-piece cast cover has an in-built handle allowing for easy removal, no more large securing nut on top and only a band clamp to tighten at the base. The bottom lip seal encompasses a “non-drip” feature, for improved sealing and no visible spillage.

2. Rotor Liner
The flexible liner retains all contaminant up to the point of service. This is designed to ease both liner withdrawal and contaminant disposal. The liner is made of durable material which may be re-used multiple times.

3. Quick Release Rotor
The new quick release rotor assembly allows for the rotor top securing nut to be removed without the need for tools. The new glass reinforced plastic rotor tube also reduces weight whilst the whole rotor system is balanced as an assembly prior to dispatch.

4. Rapid Drain Cut Off Valve
The new rapid drain cut off valve allows atmospheric pressure to enter the rotor prior to removal thus allowing for easy and fast rotor removal. Whilst also enabling a cleaner service, the excess oil drains from the rotor faster when compared with a standard cut off valve. On average, the drain time can be reduced from 45 minutes down to around 10 minutes.

This new approach to marine applications will offer a solution to the perennial servicing problem providing a cleaner, faster, easy and handy servicing approach. The ESC 600 will become the platform for the next generation of centrifugal oil filters.
