Job Description
ROLE SUMMARY
This is an Onsite position based at our U.S. and Americas Main Office location in Gastonia, NC.
The Commodity Manager Americas - Freight is responsible for procurement activities for the Freight Commodity at MANN+HUMMEL locations throughout the U.S. and Mexico.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordination and management of suppliers within the commodity
- Definition of supplier panel and buying channels for commodity in coordination with functional department
- Evaluation and release of new suppliers for own commodity
- RFQs, frame contracts and negotiations within commodity
- Business Partner for functional department within the commodi
- Management of escalation issues within the commodity
- Initiation and coordination of savings projects within the commodity
- Active analysis of supplier base within the category, indication of actions – supplier panel management,
ratio projects, renegotiation, bundling, other change activities - Target achievement regarding ratio activities within the category
- Project Management for all activities within the NPM category
- Analysis and standardization of category related processes and tools
- Represent and act as the key supplier liaison for MANN+HUMMEL for the Indirect commodity
- Conduct spend analysis; dis-assemble complex spend information into actionable insights
- Understand and conduct supplier and market research
- Build and maintain trust and strong relationships with stakeholders
- Manage projects toward concrete deliverables under a wide range of timelines
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other related field
Experience and Skills:
• 3 year’s minimum proven experience in Indirect Procurement with responsibility for Freight Expenditures
within manufacturing / industrial environments
• Experience developing and managing e-auctions, and creating / managing electronic catalogs for indirect items
• All modes of Transportation (FTL, LTL, Ocean, Parcel, Expedite options, brokerage)
• Freight audit and Pay
• TMS experience
• Experience dealing with customs brokerage
• 3PL/4PL
• Proven experience with cross-functional team collaboration
• Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office software
Preferred Certifications & Skills:
• CPM / CPSM
• Strong familiarity in use of SAP
• Power BI
