Corporate business model: A global family-owned company
MANN+HUMMEL is a globally operating family-owned company headquartered in Ludwigsburg. For more than 85 years, we have been developing and manufacturing filtration solutions, initially for the automotive sector and increasingly for other areas in industry and public infrastructure. MANN+HUMMEL International GmbH & Co. KG is the parent company of the group and is responsible for the strategic direction of the corporation, with a focus on "Leadership in Filtration".
Three business segments
Until recently, our business model comprised two segments: Transportation and Life Sciences & Environment. During the reporting year, we established a third segment: Filtration Materials. This segment will reach full operational effectiveness in 2026.
On July 1, 2025, we also expanded our executive management team by adding the role of Chief Operating Officer. This sets the course for greater customer proximity, global agility, and long-term resilience in an economically and geopolitically challenging environment.
Transportation
In the Transportation segment, our MANN+HUMMEL Original Equipment business unit provides solutions for original equipment in passenger cars (OE PC) and heavy-duty vehicles, including commercial vehicles, agricultural machinery, and mining equipment (Heavy Duty On- and Offroad, OE HD). A separate business unit, Industry, covers rail vehicles, marine applications, and energy technology. Our Aftermarket (AA) business, driven by our aftermarket brands MANN-FILTER, FILTRON, WIX Filters, and Purolator, generates consistent demand that helps stabilize the somewhat volatile OE sector. It encompasses both OE service parts (OES) and replacement parts for the independent aftermarket (IAM).
The Transportation segment accounts for 89% of our revenue.
Life Sciences & Environment
In the Life Sciences & Environment (LS&E) segment, we develop and manufacture forward-looking air and water filtration solutions under our MANN+HUMMEL Air Filtration and MANN+HUMMEL Water & Membrane Solutions brands. Our product range includes indoor and outdoor filters, cleanroom and industrial solutions, as well as stationary and mobile air purifiers equipped with HEPA filters for the removal of viruses, bacteria, and other microorganisms. Some of our indoor filters offer antiallergenic and antimicrobial properties. Our products are used in offices, schools, commercial and industrial buildings, and even in hazardous environments such as offshore oil platforms. Our portfolio also includes stationary systems for filtering fine particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide to improve outdoor air quality.
Our water filtration systems are used for water and wastewater treatment in both municipal and industrial applications, enabling the efficient use and recovery of scarce freshwater resources. Specialty applications in the food industry, biotechnology, and other ultrapure water environments such as microelectronics round out our offering.
The LS&E segment accounts for 11% of our revenue.
Filtration Materials
With the new Filtration Materials segment, which will be fully operational in 2026, we are focusing on the further development of the fundamental core elements of any filtration system: the filter media themselves. Proprietary materials developed in-house are our key differentiator. They strengthen our independence and ensure both a high pace of development and strong innovation capability. Starting in 2026, this segment will serve as an internal supplier to the group.
Digital solutions & processes
Through i2m and STREAMETRIC, we are increasingly complementing our physical product portfolio with digital services and smart, customer-specific solutions. These include networked product systems via the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud-based data analytics, purpose-built algorithms, and user-friendly apps. This allows us to provide our customers with actionable data and services that help them further optimize their filtration solutions and business operations.
MANN+HUMMEL continuously standardizes processes and makes them available through its Global Business & Technical Solutions (GBTS) platform. This reduces costs while improving efficiency and fostering a service-oriented culture. Through ongoing standardization, business processes can be digitalized, automated, and supported by AI to drive sustainable productivity gains.
Diversity is our strength
Throughout the reporting year, we continued to deepen our commitment to diversity across all areas of the company. Across 89 consolidated locations in 38 countries, people from 102 nationalities work together productively. This cultural diversity not only fosters greater employee satisfaction but also accelerates problem-solving.
