At MANN+HUMMEL, our purpose—Leadership in Filtration—connects our financial performance with our sustainability ambition. As outlined in the “Shaping Tomorrow” narrative of our 2025 Annual Report, we take responsibility for long-term value creation in a changing world. Filtration is our contribution: separating the useful from the harmful to enable cleaner air, safer water, sustainable mobility, and resilient industrial processes. In this way, sustainability is not a separate agenda; it is embedded in our business model, our strategy, and our growth markets.

In 2025, we continued to translate this ambition into measurable progress. In line with our strategic direction, we further embedded ESG into our operations and decision-making. A key milestone was the transition to 100% renewable electricity on a market-based basis across our global operations. This has reduced our Scope 2 market-based emissions to zero and significantly improved our carbon efficiency while supporting both cost discipline and long-term resilience.

We also strengthened the robustness and transparency of our climate reporting. In 2025, our Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) was independently verified by a third party, reinforcing the credibility of our data and aligning sustainability reporting with the same level of rigor as our financial disclosures. While emissions from our own operations remained low, our reported Scope 3 emissions increased as we expanded our reporting boundary. This reflects our commitment to transparency and continuous improvement. Going forward, we will further extend our Scope 3 coverage, including the use phase of our products.

At the same time, we advanced our innovation agenda, where technology is a key lever for our products and our processes. In 2025, our Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculation methodology was independently certified as compliant with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol Product Standard, creating a standardized basis for future product-level transparency. This supports our ambition to develop filtration solutions that combine performance, resource efficiency, and reduced environmental impact across their life cycle.

Beyond climate, we are strengthening our approach across all environmental dimensions. We are enhancing water management—particularly in water stressed regions—and continue to develop our data and targets. We are progressing circular economy practices and improving transparency on material use while building our approach to biodiversity. These efforts are closely linked to our operational footprint and supply chain.

Responsibility also defines how we conduct business. Respect for human rights, integrity, and responsible conduct are fundamental to our organization. We are committed to the principles of the UNGC, the core labor standards of the International Labor Organization (ILO), and the UNGPs. We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to forced labor, human trafficking, bribery, and corruption. Our governance structures, due diligence processes, and supplier requirements are continuously strengthened in line with regulatory expectations. Further details are provided in our Human Rights Statement and in the “Employees and social affairs” section of this report.

Our performance is also reflected externally. In 2025, we achieved EcoVadis Gold status for the fifth consecutive time, underlining the consistency of our ESG approach. Our ongoing disclosures to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) further support transparency and benchmarking.

While we are proud of the progress made, we are equally aware of the challenges ahead. Sustainability is a continuous journey that requires discipline, innovation, and collaboration. We are committed to strengthening our resilience and adaptability. Our sustainability agenda plays a key role in this by improving data quality, expanding our impact across the value chain, and aligning with evolving regulatory frameworks such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

By integrating sustainability into our strategy, operations, and innovation, we create long-term value for our customers, society, and the environment. This is how we shape tomorrow—consistently, responsibly, and with a clear focus on impact.

CDP Ratings

The CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) is a non-profit organization that operates an international system for the disclosure of environmental data. Companies and public institutions report on their environmental impact, such as greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption.

The CDP rating evaluates companies on the basis of several criteria contained in the CDP questionnaires on climate change and water security.

A CDP score provides a snapshot of a company’s disclosure and environmental performance. Bold environmental action must begin with an accurate, transparent assessment of environmental impact and progress, which CDP scoring makes possible.
