Nissan Supplier Gold Award for Leadership in Sustainability

Nissan North America 's Supplier Appreciation Event is a vital platform for recognizing its supply chain partners. The evaluation criteria cover multiple dimensions, including regional quality, after-sales service, supply chain, sustainability, and the "Monozukuri" spirit. Among these, The Gold Award for "Leadership in Sustainability" recognizes suppliers for their performance in areas such as carbon reduction, energy efficiency, renewable electricity, circular economy initiatives, environmentally conscious material solutions, lifecycle design, and collaborative emissions reduction. The evaluation is based on assessments conducted by EcoVadis1, one of the world's leading providers of business sustainability ratings. Regarded as one of the highest levels of recognition by an automaker for a supplier’s sustainability strategy and execution capabilities, the gold-level recognition signifies that a supplier has reached a leading level in this field.

MANN+HUMMEL not only stood out in this evaluation but has also consecutively won the EcoVadis Gold Medal for five years running, further confirming the company's sustained leadership in the field of sustainability.

Sustainability Strategy: Advancing Climate Action with a Lifecycle Mindset

At MANN+HUMMEL, sustainability is integrated into business operations, product development, and collaboration with customers and partners worldwide. The company's approach focuses on continuously improving resource efficiency, advancing technology innovation, and supporting customers in meeting their own environmental and business objectives.

A key example is the use of bio-based lignin in the impregnation process of cellulose filter media. This renewable raw material partially replaces conventional phenolic components. Compared with conventional phenolic impregnation, the solution has been independently verified to reduce crude-oil consumption in the impregnation process by up to 27% and lower product carbon footprint by up to 5%, while maintaining the required technical and filtration performance.2

This commitment to continuous improvement is also reflected in external assessments, as demonstrated by this latest award recognition.

Solutions for Passenger Vehicle: Enabling Cleaner Mobility with Advanced Filtration Technologies

In the passenger vehicle segment, MANN+HUMMEL provides advanced and integrated filtration solutions for Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), hybrid, and pure electric vehicles (EV), covering scenarios such as cabin air, powertrain, chassis, etc. With these technologies, MANN+HUMMEL helps vehicles reduce carbon emissions, lower energy consumption, extend component life, and supports the transition to cleaner and more efficient mobility.

Looking ahead, MANN+HUMMEL will continue to place filtration technology at its core, deeply internalizing sustainability into customer value and long-term competitiveness. Together with Nissan and many other partners, the company aims to jointly build a safer, greener, and more resilient sustainable transportation ecosystem.
