Right on track

MANN+HUMMEL presents solutions for the future of drive systems, best air quality and smart services at Berlin's InnoTrans.

Ludwigsburg, September 20, 2022 - Filtration makes the difference - for a cleaner planet. As a globally leading company in filtration technology, MANN+HUMMEL is shaping the future of mobility together with its customers. At Berlin's InnoTrans (September 20 - 23, Hall 18, Booth 440), the Ludwigsburg-based family-owned company will present its solutions for cleaner mobility and a more sustainable future.

At the center of attention are filtration solutions for a wide variety of drive systems, the best air quality, and smart services. "The use of fuel cells plays an increasingly important role in rail transport as well. We have many years of experience in this field and will present to visitors how we can achieve the best performance and a longer service life with innovative filtration," says Heiko Rapp, Vice President Original Equipment Europe. "In addition, we will of course also show our proven range with innovative new features and improvements."

Best air quality

MANN+HUMMEL has been committed to the filtration of fine dust from ambient air not only since the globally recognized use of its Filter Cubes at the Neckartor in Stuttgart. More than 400 Filter Cubes are now in operation worldwide, cleaning almost two billion liters of air per hour. This corresponds to the fresh air requirements of 4.1 million people. MANN+HUMMEL also has an extensive portfolio of solutions for improving air quality.

Air polluted with fine dust also plays a major role in local and long-distance public transport. At InnoTrans, MANN+HUMMEL will therefore be presenting stationary air purification systems and brake dust particle filters for reducing fine dust emissions in rail traffic and in waiting areas.

Better air quality in cities and conurbations also plays a central role in the AeroSolfd project funded by the European Union. MANN+HUMMEL coordinates the consortium, in which companies, research institutions and model regions are participating. In the Speakers Corner (Hall 14.2) on Friday, September 23, 10 a.m., Tome Canas (Metro Lisboa), Dr. Martin Lehmann (MANN+HUMMEL), Prof. Dr. Susanne Sophia Spiliotis (Aktionsbündnis Gesunde Luft) and Thomas Wolf (ZF Friedrichshafen AG) will discuss the topic "Healthier commuting: EU project 'AeroSolfd' for cleaner air in urban traffic".

ENTARON XR: The self-cleaning air filter from MANN+HUMMEL

Smart service

"Shortened downtimes and extended maintenance intervals are of immense importance for mobility service providers," says Rapp. "We have also developed solutions for this, which we will present in Berlin." Specifically, these are WAVELOCK spin-on filters with bayonet locks that enable simple and fast maintenance. The self-cleaning ENTARON XR air filter extends change intervals and thus increases machine availability.
