Motivated to the max, MANN-FILTER Mamba starts final DTM round in Hockenheim
The final two race days have plenty more action to enjoy! Next weekend (October 20–22), the 2023 DTM season will enter its final round at Hockenheim. Maro Engel and the Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER are aiming for another top result.
Ludwigsburg, October 16, 2023 – After a long season, the DTM is entering the home stretch. At the traditional season finale in Hockenheim, MANN-FILTER driver Maro Engel wants to show once again that he and his MANN-FILTER Mamba are justified in being the absolute crowd favorites.
Hockenheim as the crowning finale
For many years, Hockenheimring has been the venue for the DTM season finale and is also often referred to as the DTM's "living room". Many a championship has been decided here. Even though the MANN-FILTER Mamba is no longer in contention for the title this year, Maro Engel (37, Germany) wants to finish the 2023 season at the top. The conditions are good because the Mercedes-AMG GT3 has always been competitive in Hockenheim. The track is very demanding with both fast sections and tight turns.
Maro Engel, who has already completed countless races here in various racing series, is looking forward to the finale: "Of course, we want to finish the season with good results. In the pre-race test, we were able to set the best time here, but the true balance of power is difficult to assess. We will probably only find this out on the race weekend itself. The whole team is highly motivated and we will give our all to put the Mamba on the podium again and give our fans a victory." The 37-year-old from the Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER is currently 10th in the overall ranking, but with two good results, he could still make a significant leap towards the top of the ranking.
Team manager Brice Brosi has already prepared his team for the optimal finale: "It has been an eventful season with highs and lows! Of course, our highlight was the win in Zandvoort. But we have matured extremely well as a team. At this stage, we're always in the top 10 in terms of pit stops, and that's in our first season. The DTM just has its own rules, but no matter what challenge we were faced with over the course of the season, everyone in the team has always risen to it. For us, giving up is not an option. Challenges have only brought us closer together. That's why, in Hockenheim, the fight will go down to the very last lap. I am particularly looking forward to the full support of MANN-FILTER fans, who have always turned out in droves here in recent years, and we are eagerly anticipating a great and hopefully successful finale in Hockenheim!"
MANN-FILTER home track with lots of fans
MANN-FILTER fans have a lot to look forward to in Hockenheim. In recent years, the stands at the ADAC GT Masters have always been firmly in yellow and green hands, which is what makes the team surrounding the MANN-FILTER Mamba hopeful for the first appearance here as part of the DTM. After all, Hockenheim is the home track for MANN-FILTER because it is not far away from the company headquarters in Ludwigsburg and the plant in Speyer.
Filippina Manou, Sponsorship Manager at MANN-FILTER, looks forward to the weekend: "As our home track, Hockenheim is of course something very special for MANN-FILTER. Many employees from Speyer and Ludwigsburg come to the races in Hockenheim to cheer on the Mamba and experience it live. Our first DTM season started very well, but it soon became clear how challenging the competition is. Nevertheless, the team led by Klaus Landgraf, along with Maro and AMG, have accomplished a great deal. This week they were in Hockenheim again for some tests in order to achieve the best possible end result. We at MANN-FILTER are really looking forward to the final round."
Lots of action to conclude the season
Traditionally, the two races at the end of the season are very spectacular. Everyone tries to end the season with a favorable result. Tough fights on the track are inevitable. The famous Motodrom with its stadium atmosphere offers goosebump moments when the attention begins to focus on the finish line. DTM also offers fans lots to do off the track. The DTM Fan Zone is the pivot point of the paddock. Whether it's just chilling, or enjoying the DTM on the big screen, or getting an autograph at Meet the Drivers – a visit to the fan zone is always worthwhile. If you can't be there live, Pro7 will be broadcasting both races live as usual.
MANN-FILTER will take fans behind the scenes on popular social media channels and, as the season comes to an end, is staying true to its motto "Beast Mode: ON!", once again creating an engaging atmosphere on and off the race track!
