Job Description
Main Tasks
- Lead the development and refinement of innovative product design concepts, ensuring alignment with customer needs, technical feasibility, and business goals.
- Manage the design engineering team, providing direction, coaching, and technical leadership throughout the product lifecycle.
- Oversee the translation of product requirements into engineering drawings, 3D models, and detailed technical documentation.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between R&D, Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Testing to ensure successful design outcomes.
- Drive CAD modeling excellence and ensure precision in digital design assets and simulations.
- Lead prototype development, feasibility testing, and validation phases to assess product performance, user experience, and manufacturability.
- Ensure all designs comply with internal standards, industry regulations, and sustainability criteria.
- Develop and implement structured test plans, resource allocations, and risk assessments for new projects.
- Manage multiple design projects concurrently, ensuring on-time delivery, technical integrity, and cross-team alignment.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the design engineering function.
- Support and contribute to product innovation strategies, bringing in new methods, tools, and materials to enhance product competitiveness.
Your Profile
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related technical field.
Experience:
- At least 7 years of experience in product development or design engineering, including 2+ years in a people leadership or project lead role.
Skills:
- Proven experience with CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, or equivalent), engineering drawings, and 3D modeling best practices.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM), design-for-manufacturing (DFM), and design validation processes.
- Track record in managing complex engineering projects and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with prototype development, feasibility testing, and structured test planning.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a structured, analytical mindset.
- Ability to foster innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practices.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.
- Willingness to travel regionally or globally based on project needs.
