MANN+HUMMEL filtration solutions enable the fuel cell system to function properly and extend its service life. In recent years we have observed a trend towards fuel cell applications for heavy-duty and off-road applications and will therefore be presenting our new components, which are designed for system powers of up to 400 kW.

Since fuel cells are operated with an excess of fuel, the recirculation of excess hydrogen into the anode inlet of the fuel cell is a common practice in modern system design. To prevent flooding of the fuel cell stack by process water and to protect components in the recirculation loop from liquid water, the anode water separator is an essential component in the recirculation circuit. For the first time, MANN+HUMMEL is presenting an innovative product design that enables a water separation efficiency of over 99% under most operating conditions and which also has the necessary valves and sensors integrated.

The innovative StarBox² series for air/oil separation in compressors shines with maximum performance in the area of volume flow and minimum pressure loss. It not only reliably separates compressor oil from the compressed air, it also does so with minimum energy consumption. Compared to other spin-on separators, the StarBox² impresses with up to 25 percent less pressure loss.

The ENTARON CD is designed as a single-stage alternative to the ENTARON HD and is therefore the preferred solution for stationary applications with a low to medium dust load (e.g. compressors and power generators). In comparison to the Europiclon the installation space can be significantly reduced retaining the same low flow resistance.

Airborne particles and gases can damage the fuel cell stack by catalyst poisoning, channel blocking and membrane degradation. The MANN+HUMMEL cathode air filter protects fuel cell stacks from these contaminants. The combination of adsorption and filtration enables clean air supply to the stack and keeps its performance. As a system supplier, MANN+HUMMEL also develops customer specific solutions including dirty and cleanside ducts as well as further functional integration such as water separators and acoustic measures.

WAVELOCK bayonet lock – evolution of the spin-on filter concept: Spin-on oil filters from MANN+HUMMEL have been proven for years and offer optimum protection. However, the filter change of conventional spin-on filters is power-consuming and only possible with a strap wrench or a comparable special tool. The bayonet lock developed by MANN+HUMMEL for the mounting of spin-on filters sets new standards for easy servicing and reduction of service costs.
