Singapore, 5 September 2018 – MANN+HUMMEL Group, a leading global filtration specialist, launched the OurAir brand in India, in conjunction with the official announcement of the accreditation of both the OurAir air quality monitors and digital platform by RESET.
Access to clean air is vital for human health and well-being. By combining 77 years of filtration expertise with cutting-edge digital innovation, MANN+HUMMEL developed a portfolio of indoor air quality solutions called OurAir. These solutions are based on smart devices, where sensors, filters, purification and ventilation systems, work seamlessly with the OurAir digital platform, enabling building users and operators to KNOW, IMPROVE and MANAGE air quality in real time.
Mr. Pradeep Randhawa, Managing Director, MANN+HUMMEL India, states: “Air pollution in India is a serious issue. Based on a WHO ranking of particulate pollution in cities in 2016, 11 of the 12 cities with the highest levels are located here in India. We are paying a high price: 30% of all premature deaths are due to air pollution. As a company MANN+HUMMEL wants to contribute. We are committed to forge partnerships and leverage our leadership in filtration, to deliver effective solutions that can help.”
To mark the launch of OurAir in India, MANN+HUMMEL sponsored the inaugural Air Quality Expert Series in Bangalore. Mr. Randhawa explained, “We wanted to organize an event that brings together expert speakers and representatives from government, industry and trade associations. It is important to have a platform to explore the latest trends, standards, and innovation, driving the development of healthy buildings with clean air solutions. I am very grateful for the strong support we received from the Indian Green Building Council and RESET.”
In the context of the OurAir launch, MANN+HUMMEL also announced that OurAir has officially been accepted to join the international network of companies providing RESET accredited indoor air quality solutions. MANN+HUMMEL with its business model OurAir is the first company to successfully achieve RESET accreditation for both its cloud software (OurAir Digital Platform), and air quality monitors (OurAir SPS208, OurAir SPB308, and OurAir SPB358), making it the largest total solution provider in the world. OurAir solutions are designed for commercial buildings, so that they can be operated to the RESET standard.
"We are highly impressed with OurAir's approach, which goes beyond our focus on data quality and health thresholds, into asset management tools, that ensure the long-term health performance of buildings and their interiors.” says Raefer Wallis, founder of RESET. "Developing a healthy building is one thing. Operating one is quite another challenge. Most projects fail during operations and we're seeing a shift in tenant expectations. They are now saying, ‘I don't really care how the building was designed, I just want to know if it actually works.’ OurAir addresses that.”
"German engineering companies have a reputation for being focused on quality, down to the finest detail. I am confident that MANN+HUMMEL and OurAir live up to this reputation." says Jason Tang, Vice President of Intelligent Air Solutions, Asia Pacific. "RESET is the only building standard in the world to focus on the foundational details of what makes building systems work. There is a great emphasis on the quality of source data and hardware, through to actual performance metrics, which are measured every day. As a business model focused on providing indoor air quality solutions, OurAir's vision and values are very much aligned with RESET's mission."
As a business of MANN+HUMMEL, the world's leading filtration expert, OurAir brings a global footprint of 80 locations to serve key markets, such as US, UK, Germany, France, India, China, Australia and Southeast Asia. Supported by an international team of accredited professionals, OurAir has the ability to deliver projects targeting RESET Certification across the world.
"We're honored to have such a large multi-national and industry expert embrace the RESET Standard and carry it forward globally." says Raefer, "This will be of great value to the international property owners and operators pursuing RESET across their portfolios."
As MANN+HUMMEL extended its portfolio also to smart solutions for outdoor air improvement, the Fine Dust Eater project was introduced to the audience as well (see more info at: https://www.mann-hummel.com/en/research-and-development/innovations-and-creativity/the-mannhummel-fine-dust-eater/).
